Pilot 01 / 04 · The most data-populated pilot in the prototype

Barcelona

Catalonia · Spain · 41.39°N 2.16°E · Mediterranean bioregion

The first attempt at live data ingestion in FCI 3.0. Institutional anchor is IAAC; data sources are Metroverse ECI (Harvard Growth Lab), IAAC fab-lab catchment, Smart Citizen sensor network, and the Barcelona Open Data Portal. Every cell is mock-pill labeled today; Environmental × City and Economic × City are the first graduation targets as the ingestion adapters land. The strip below lights up when the first real observation flows.

The 20-cell ledger

What each cell looks like populated.

Twenty cells. Per-cell normalised score sc ∈ [0, 1] read as capacity. Per-cell mock-pill label so the reader can see at a glance what is live, what is partial-ingestion, and what is provisional. Source attribution on every cell — Metroverse ECI for Economic × Region, IAAC fab-lab catchment for Economic × Community, Smart Citizen for Environmental × City, Barcelona Open Data Portal for Governance × City.

Generation 1 + 2 — what Barcelona inherits

The Economic × City / Region cell.

Barcelona has not been measured by the Generation 1 instrument (Utopies covered French urban areas only). It has not been measured by the Generation 2 instrument (Boeing measured Hamburg). What we can say with confidence is that any single-cell snapshot of Barcelona at Economic × City / Region, computed with the methodology shared between Florentin/Chabanel/Guimas and Boeing, would land in the same structural neighbourhood as Paris and Hamburg — because the structural cause of the ceiling is global supply-chain geometry, not the specifics of either French or German statistical apparatus. The work FCI 3.0 does is to measure the other nineteen cells alongside this one, and to add ρ.
