Its home institution is UC Chile, and it builds on Vivanco's doctoral work mapping materials across the Southern Cone. That work gives Santiago the clearest read on its bioregion, the natural region the city sits in, of any pilot here. Vivanco's 2025 thesis mapped four Chilean macrozones, and that is what we lean on for the Environmental × Bioregion and Economic × Bioregion cells. The data here is still mock.
